I would like to test this forum in live use, so if Ollie could reply and maybe try posting a photo that would be good.

Regards

Barrie

Here is a photo of the two options that I have for trimming F2A pistons.

Hello Neil

Thanks for the reply, the photo is very interesting because my long term plan is to be able to make pistons.

I am needing to find out why the forum does not display the photo? I have to click on it to see the photo.

I will try a few changes.

Remind me of your address by PM or email so as that I can send that Etalon micrometer.

Regards

Barrie

Neil

i trim my piston the same way you do in the first picture, is their any advantage in doing the trimming with the connecting rod attached?

@oldschool I trim with the rod attached when the pin needs to be a very tight fit to  the piston, like in the F2C diesel engines, or in some of the Pylon race pistons. If you assemble after it is trimmed, the piston can be forced out of round.

Ollie-Old School

Glad to see you are up and running with the forum, I sent you an email the other day from this site but it bounced back this evening, seems like BT think that the email address is spam.

Best Regards

Barrie
