Speed competitions to resume on April 10th and 11th

By | March 19, 2021

This is the great news that we have all been waiting for, that being a resumption of competitive speed flying. As far as I can see this will be the first organised model flying competition run anywhere in the UK in 2021.

Of course we still have to be careful and follow all Covid related guidelines, please read our Covid guidance page.

On Saturday 10th April Barton club speed will fly in the morning and likely run into the afternoon, we will also be flying in the caged hard circle on the Saturday, Sunday will be BMFA Centralised Open Speed and will also count as an F2A team trial selection meeting.

There has been a big push on recruiting new speed fliers in the last 6 to 9 month’s, the Barton committee extend a warm and cordial invitation to these fliers for this inaugural meeting of 2021.

Assuming that the roadmap out of Covid continues as the government have indicated then the next Barton speed meeting will be the 22nd and 23rd May, on the 26th May there will be a mid week speed meeting in Surrey run by Paul Eisner, check the contest calendar on this website or Aeromodeller for details.

Any questions about the Barton meetings then direct these to Dick Hart 01387 820335.

About Barrie Lever

I am a committed competition modeller, flying RC pylon since 1978 and additionally control line since 2017, although I had held a latent interest in CL speed for decades. I like to make as much of my competition models myself as is possible, this often involves teaming up with other like minded competitors to share the workload.
