New CL hard circle being constructed

By | October 21, 2020

There has been talk of constructing a hard circle at the BMFA Buckminster National aeromodelling centre for about the last three years, fund raising was put in motion and then things went quite, everyone thought the worst that the circle would never get built, well in the last 6 weeks there has been massive progress as the attached photo’s will testify.

This will be a dual use speed and team racing circle and we expect it to have a cage from the opening, as you can see there are some fairly serious excavations going on to get a level circle base, the excavated material would appear to be being piled up to help attenuate nuisance noise.

This is great news for the competitive control line fraternity, firstly to even see another circle with full support facilities being constructed and secondly within the grounds of the National aeromodelling centre with all of it’s great features.

More news as it arrives.

About Barrie Lever

I am a committed competition modeller, flying RC pylon since 1978 and additionally control line since 2017, although I had held a latent interest in CL speed for decades. I like to make as much of my competition models myself as is possible, this often involves teaming up with other like minded competitors to share the workload.
